Forward Anyway is a nonprofit organization founded by Ella Miller with a mission to bring hope, encouragement, and kindness to children and families facing difficult medical experiences.
Ella Miller was a healthy, athletic 16-year-old junior in high school when a sudden illness changed everything. After contracting a virus, Ella fell into a coma and fought for her life before receiving a lifesaving liver transplant and spending months in the hospital.
During her recovery, Ella witnessed the struggles, uncertainty, and loneliness that children and families can experience while in the hospital. Her own journey inspired her to give back, creating Forward Anyway as a way to bring positivity, comfort, and kindness to others facing difficult moments.
Our mission is simple: bring the power of positivity and messages of inspiration and hope to children and families in hospitals. Through handmade cards, encouraging words, and thoughtful gestures, Forward Anyway reminds people that they are seen, supported, and not alone.
